Gravity takes a more somber tone, and reinterprets the darkness of forces beyond our control. Gravity becomes both internal and external, an emotional pull and a physical gesture that cannot be helped.
The bright neon on the mostly black and gray palette acts as the pull, while the downward slope of the mid-century modern-inspired form is the force of gravity simplified.
The new, original prints reflect the same motif: slices of neon cut across black and white collages of old Manila and Berlin, becoming a whimsical deconstruction of the gravity of memory and desire.
